Invasion Edinburgh

Goblins

While still living in the south of England, I happened upon the trail of a very peculiar species of goblin.

These creatures love to hear stories. In fact, they enjoy books so much, that they will tend to gather anywhere they might find a good collection of them and especially people who might read stories that they can listen to.

There is one major draw back to their love of literature and that is the fact that this brings them into contact with humans.

If ever one of them is seen by a human they instantly turn to stone.

This defence mechanism means that they will always be disguised when around people, however, it is believed that they can still hear and see when in this camouflaged and solid state, so they can at least listen to as many tales as are told in their vicinity.

It just so happens that one of the places I have discovered where they gather in great numbers, is Edinburgh. Current thinking suggests that with so many literary events happening here it was inevitable that large numbers would make this city their home.

Where these Goblins are not found naturally, we are able to provide individually hand made ones to order.

Currently a batch is being made for a book event in the heart of Edinburgh, where it is hoped younger visitors will take pity on them and offer a home to one.

The condition of keeping one is that regular story telling must go on within earshot of them. Otherwise, it has been known for them to disappear, or worse, start to disintegrate through lack of mental sustenance.

Additional photographic images of these creatures are to be found in the goblin gallery.
